EXT. LOURENSFORD — CAPE TOWN · SUPPLIED

Lourensford as a filming location.

High ground above Somerset West: dirt tracks climbing through fynbos toward the Helderberg peaks, valley views that run to the sea, and — on the Graskop side — a plateau of granite boulders under moving cloud. Vehicle-accessible wilderness an hour from town.

● The short version

Lourensford is an estate in Somerset West photographed here across two grounds: the mountain tracks under the Helderberg range, and the Graskop plateau with its granite boulders and fynbos. The frames show 4x4-width dirt roads through the terrain. Access via Groundglass; enquiries through EXT. Oak Valley, a separate ground, is listed in the regional collection only.

THE GROUNDWHAT THE PHOTOGRAPHS SHOW

Track, fynbos, granite.

GRD/01

The estate side

Graded dirt tracks — wide enough for vehicles in every frame — running through low fynbos with the Helderberg wall directly above. One elevated frame looks across the whole valley to a sea horizon: the drone shot, available from the ground.

GRD/02

The Graskop side

A different register on the same booking: rounded granite boulders the size of vehicles scattered across a plateau, sand paths between them, weather moving over the peaks behind. It plays as remote African highland; the frames show open terrain with no built structure in sight.

FAQ/01

How do we enquire about filming at Lourensford?

Through EXT., as with any location in the library — jonny@extlocations.co.uk or 01202 022 158. We brief Groundglass, who hold the relationship and arrange access on the ground.

FAQ/02

Who handles permits and access at Lourensford?

Groundglass. Cape Town permitting is their domain — they scouted and photographed this location, hold the relationships and arrange access. We do not publish permit routes or fees for supplied locations; terms are confirmed at booking.

FAQ/03

Is Graskop a separate booking?

Graskop is photographed as part of the same supplied ground and this page covers both. Oak Valley — a separate estate in the same collection — is listed on the Cape Town page and enquired about the same way.
