EXT. represents privately owned houses, land and buildings for film, television, photography and advertising across Dorset, the Jurassic Coast, London and the West Country. Listing is free. We earn a commission only when a booking is confirmed and you are paid.
● The short version
To list your property as a filming location, send us a few photographs and a short description using the form below. There is no sign-up fee and no subscription. If it suits the briefs we receive, we add it to the library, market it to productions, handle the enquiry, the recce and the location agreement, and take a commission only on confirmed bookings. Productions carry their own public liability insurance and agree in writing to reinstate the property as they found it.
● WHAT PRODUCTIONS ASK FORNOT JUST STATELY HOMES
Ordinary places book too.
The most requested location in any library is a believable family home. Briefs also ask for farmland, workshops, offices and empty ground with a view. What matters is how a space reads on camera and whether a crew can practically get in, park and work.

OWN/01
How do I list my house as a filming location?
Send us a few photographs and a short description using the form on this page. We assess its screen potential, and if it suits the kinds of briefs we receive we add it to the library. There is no sign-up fee and no subscription.
OWN/02
What does it cost to list a property?
Nothing. EXT. takes a commission only when a booking is confirmed and you are paid. An optional onboarding photography package is available if you want the property photographed by working cinematographers before it goes into the library.
OWN/03
What kinds of places do productions look for?
More than period houses. Briefs regularly ask for ordinary family kitchens, modern and mid-century homes, farmland and barns, gardens, industrial units, workshops, offices, coastal properties and empty land with a view. What matters is how the space reads on camera and whether a crew can practically get in, park and work.
OWN/04
What happens on a shoot day?
Before anything is agreed, the production visits on a recce. The shoot is then covered by a location agreement setting out dates and hours, the size of the unit, which rooms are used, what may be moved or dressed, parking, the fee and reinstatement. A location manager is the production's point of contact with you throughout.
OWN/05
Am I covered if something is damaged?
Professional productions carry public liability insurance and the location agreement commits them to reinstating the property as they found it. We check both before a booking goes ahead, and you can ask to see the certificate.
OWN/06
Which areas do you cover?
Dorset and the Jurassic Coast are the heart of the library, alongside London and the West Country — Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. If your property is elsewhere in the south of England, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can represent it.
